THE LOCAL AREA
A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year.
The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area.
As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.
London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination. Spitalfields markets, once a Sunday-only mainstay, are open every day. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, Spitalfields Traders Market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks and as well as food.
Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell and Giraffe.
COLUMBIA STREET FLOWER MARKET
For an authentic East London experience, nothing comes close to Columbia Road market on a Sunday morning. Jam packed with the best blooms in the capital, it’s a lively and pretty noisy affair (and not for those who prefer peace and quiet on a Sunday), with salt-of-the-earth Eastender types, shouting at the top of their lungs and all trying to outdo one another's patter.
During the rest of the week you can dine and shop at the rest of the quaint little restaurants and boutiques.
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE LONDON AT ITS BEST!!!

We stayed here for three nights. It's really close to the centre of London, which makes traveling easy. The tube is only a couple of minutes away. The room itself was perfectly fine for two people. Everything in the house is nice and clean and we really enjoyed our stay here. The house can be a bit noisy, so if you're a light sleeper don't forget to bring your earplugs with you.
Very professional contact, had everything I needed. Didn't actually meet Kaz, but the room was great and the location is perfect as well!
Nice clean & comfortable room. Great host.
Clean and comfortable room. Good transport links.
Everything was fine. Nice little bedroom. It was pretty loud outside all night, but that's whats to be expected of London.
A quiet room.No T,V. unfortunately.shared toilet and shared shower good hot water.Saw the manageress for 2 minutes. close to tube/buses etc no real issues with the place you get what you pay for...Wetherspoons 5 minutes away, lots of takeaways very close. A good visit in all..
Room was clean and instructions for getting to the location and getting the keys were good. There weren't any troubles with the other guests staying in the apartment, they were respectful and kept the shared areas clean. The sink faucets in the bathroom were loose, but they still worked.
Really central - Great accommodation
Hello, we just been a few days in London, For start the good things = Good location, good instructions from the owner, Medium things = Clean so so, bins not being empty every day. Bad things we stay in room 4, next door from the shower, and was annoying to listen noises and being fully booked the use of the bathroom was constant. Front door handle is naked.
It is a shame as the apartment is decent size and very good located and average as per London standards, I would not repeat in this place due to the comments I told, maybe another room with no bathroom next door .........
Lovely accomodation, really nice big bedrroom, everything clean and well provided for. Well recommended, would stay here again. Only thing is was locating the property due to the fact that external renovations in the area have covered everything in scaffolding. Best thing is to concentrate on the photo and look for the red wooden fence on the right.
